Lawyer: Ex-wife won’t seek custody of Jackson’s children

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) — Michael Jackson’s ex-wife and the mother of his two eldest children, Debbie Rowe, has agreed not to challenge the singer’s mother for custody of the children, a Jackson family lawyer said in a CBS News interview.

Londell McMillan, who represents Katherine Jackson, said a tentative agreement was reached “for the best interests of the children.”

“This is not a money deal,” McMillan said. “This is not about money.”

Debbie Rowe never publicly said if she would fight Jackson’s 79-year-old mother for custody of her son and daughter — ages 11 and 12 — and a court hearing concerning custody was delayed several times this month while lawyers for each side talked. The youngest child, 7, was carried by a surrogate mother, whose name has never been released.

Michael Jackson Rushed to Los Angeles Hospital for Cardiac Arrest

Michael Jackson has been rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, police confirmed to FOX News Thursday.

The legendary singer, 50, reportedly went into cardiac arrest and had to receive CPR in the ambulance, according to a report from TMZ.

Joe Jackson, his father, told multiple news sources that his son is not doing well.

According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, paramedics responded to a 911 call at around 12:26 p.m. PDT. He was reportedly not breathing at the time of their arrival.

Ed McMahon dies at 86

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Ed McMahon, a fixture on U.S. late-night television for 30 years as the full-throated announcer and sidekick for Johnny Carson on NBC’s “The Tonight Show,” died on Tuesday at 86 after battling a series of illnesses in recent months.

The veteran TV personality best known for his nightly introduction of Carson in a deep, booming voice with the drawn-out line, “Heeeeeeeeere’s Johnny!” died at a Los Angeles-area hospital, and was immediately hailed by friends and former colleagues as an icon of American popular culture.

“He died early this morning with his wife and loved ones by his side,” his spokesman Howard Bragman said. McMahon had been battling pneumonia, among many other illnesses.

Outgoing, affable and possessing a robust, baritone voice, McMahon began his career with stints as a bingo caller, carnival barker and boardwalk pitchman before becoming a broadcast announcer and TV host.
